In a post regarding Codemasters and Steam, JigglyBean (Senior Community Manager of Boxed Products) stated that “We do expect to see all of our upcoming titles on Steam”. This is good news for users of the popular application from Valve.
With great thanks to AlexVestin, we have received a new logo to proudly use to display our dedication to Operation Flashpoint 2 and the community’s growth and well being.
With a update from Helios the infomation that was aiming to be released this week has had it release date moved to some time next week. I presume mid week as the information is currently being held up by administration issues. It will require a few days for it to move around the office.
A heads up:
If you don’t want to miss information like this, events on IRC or can’t view the forums daily, remember there is a e-mail service where you can get information like this delivered as it happens to your mail box. Check it out.
Reminder: For the people who were on IRC during the event and on the mailing list – remember the IRC code. If you need a refresher on the code please private message me. The code is lifted as soon as Helios posts his information. I expect similar information to what was said on IRC. I presume we may see it better constructed and possibly expanded. So there is still hope of new information.
Helios on January 24th 2009, at 8:10PM [+/- 00:00 GMT] has joined IRC or the second time. He idled for a while then chatted for a good amount of time, late into the night. Good information was had and it was a enjoyable and constructive evening. We would like to thank Helios for coming out. As of 3:08 AM GMT, Helios left IRC.
I would like to thank everyone whom came out, and remind everyone to remember the IRC Code!
Helios is no longer in IRC – He departed at 6:50PM EST.
Not getting your fix of Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising communication, during this forum outage? Need some one to talk to? thinking about ending it all?
Never fear! The official OFP2 IRC never sleeps and never fails to provide. There as a backup and go general to area for offtopic and on topic communication. OFP2 IRC is a great area for socializing about OFP2.
1:14PM EST Update:
The forums have returned to some. It seems that the message is a country related message on a time delay per user’s location. It’s not effected by PC time, so it’s presumed to use the IP’s host location. Regardless VIA Proxy you can view the forums, however it is not recommended you login via a proxy here.
PS: For those who may be new to IRC; Always Remember to check IRC when ever there is a event of any kind. There will always be people in IRC on events and most likely IRC will be the main area for comments and chat during the event..
Having taken the risk and logged in, I thought I would share with you some of the noticable features while you wait for full connection to return.
With the addition of the following Russian interview the Operation Flashpoint 2 – Complete Collection is now fully complete. Previous to a few months back only a few videos due to site features eluded capture. With the advent of better tools in my possession these videos elude me no more. They have been uploaded and are now part of the complete OFP2 collection.
I pride my selfs in providing the best possible service to the community at large. If you know of any videos that have not made the collection – please drop me a line via the forums, or youtube and I will promptly get it added to the collection.
Lastly I would like to thank supporters of the community services, and those whom promote and use it day to day. Your dedication has helped push the views of the OFP2 video channel to almost double it’s daily views. There is still much growth to be done – so keep promoting!
This coming Monday, 19th January, at 08.00 hours (GMT), the Codemasters forums will be brought offline in order to upgrade them to the latest version (3.8) of vBulletin. During that time users will not be able to view, search or post to the forums.
A number of improvements, additions and enhancements will be included in the upgrade including updated dev trackers, database optimisation, infraction system, AJAX implementation, multi-quote feature, new profile displays, tags and much, much more!
Please note that the game-specific/custom forum skins will be re-introduced on Tuesday, 20th January, 2009 – until then, the standard Codemasters skin will be available.
Codemasters thanks you for your patience during the downtime and looks forward to welcoming you back to the shiny new forums later on Monday!
