On the OFP2 Flickr account there has been a upload of 3 weapon renders - the M21, M134 and Type-05. These images are not new, but have eluded capture and main stream display. So they should be new the majority of OFP2 fans.
Thanks to Mr. kudlak for finding them.

Do you need your information on the go? are you linked in and want a convenient way to check in on the latest OFP2 info?

Just use your BlackBerry’s/PDA’s/iPhone/Smart phone’s/Phone’s web browser and point it to OperationFlashpoint2.org. This website will recognize that you are mobile and will give you the low-fi version of this site. You will get the latest news posts and a search feature.

As our continual commitment to OFP2 growth we believe in accessibility. For mobile users we already have a e-mail alert system called the Community News Feed but we wished to take it a step further. In the future it is our aim to also link in though RSS the other major fan sites that support community development so that you may view (or at least preview) the latest news from all over the OFP2 Community Network. We hope to make good strides such as mobile reporting, audio and media feeds and video playable for mobile devices.

With a little work perhaps even provide a low-fi version of this website for with limited or poor connections. Keeping in mind the diversity of the Operation Flashpoint community we have members from cottages, farmlands, and remote rural environments as well as countries with poor or limited Internet infrastructure.

We hope you find this new site feature useful, please post a comment and let us know what you think.

As you may know Mibbit is a great way to connect to IRC in networks where IRC is blocked, or not capable of being installed. Recently users of Mibbit have noticed errors like “Cannot Connect - Glined“, “Connection Terminated” or the Warning “Warning To many IP’s Connected from this host”. These errors and warnings are due to Gamesurges’ bot/clone protection trying to protect Gamesurge from single IP/Clients having more then 1-3 users/clones online at a time. Mibbit because it provides IRC though a website, Mibbit comes from a single IP. The previous limit for Mibbit was 50 users. This number I’ve been told has now expanded. However Mibbit is still not allowed unlimited IPs and will still kick out all users when the limit is reached.

To resolve this issue GameSurge has created a new IRC server on there network for Mibbit access. Don’t worry about it effecting your connection - IRC works on a interconnected relay system, where messages start one server and get sent to all servers. The only difference Mibbit users will see is perhaps faster performance and no more errors. So Happy chatting!

Below is news post from GameSurge with the the instructions and news post regarding the updating your Mibbit link to support the changes at GameSurge to the new IRC server for webclients.

New Chat Widget - 11/26/2008 - Posted by ThiefMaster

Since today we have something new for those of you who do not use a real IRC client or like to connect to GameSurge from school or work:
The mibbit IRC widget which replaces the Java applet on http://www.gamesurge.net/chat allows you to connect to GameSurge without using any ports but the regular http port (80) which is open almost everywhere. Just in case you prefer the Java applet, it is still available at http://www.gamesurge.net/javachat.

For those who want to add the widget to their website: either you can link the one on the GameSurge site and pass channels via the URL (/chat/CHANNELNAME; e.g. /chat/gamesurge for #gamesurge or /chat/CHANNELNAME/DEFAULTNICKNAME) or you can embed the mibbit widget on your site. In this case you should set the server to webirc.gamesurge.net:6007 so people connect with their real IP (otherwise they might get glined for excessive connections).

Source: www.GameSurge.net

You have hit the end of the news posts for OperationFlashpoint2.org.

OperationFlashpoint2.org as you see it - is a front end for promoting community events, services, alerts, and announcements not to mention to provide a focal point for “Heroes” that wish to help further develop their community.

The community previous to this front end there has been several website iterations and which has lead to the deleting of some of the older news posts. There has however been a constant community service during that time that maintains to this date a fast and detailed record of OFP2 and Community News from Tue Aug 19 12:11 EDT 2008. You can view for your self the archives here, the archives are currently 41 messages big as of Dec 19th.
