Posted a few hours ago (5am EST). Helios has announced information from Tim Browne (Lead Designer on OFP: DR) regarding a a list of 5 achievement/trophy names that you’ll be able to attain in OFP: DR. They are:

• Unbloodied Hands
• Tide’s Out
• Keep ‘em Rolling
• Shock and Awe
• Low Blow

As these are only the titles to the achievement. A competition has been created around what you need to do for each particular achievement/trophy.

If you have any guess to what the above are, head over to the source link and make a post. First person to guess a any of the titles correctly, gets a custom avatar. Thats makes five that are going out soon, so don’t delay.

Released at 9pm EST. Take a sneak peek at the arsenal that will be at your disposal in Dragon Rising.

I guess this means a low turnout for the party , I’ll still be there incase Helios brings us goodies. The current noted release date on Game Trailers is September 30, 2009, while the video is OCT 06 we will confirm with Helios tomorrow.

As promised, today we are pleased to announce that Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising will be shipping on October 6th in North America and releasing on October 8th through EPAC territories with a October 9th street date in the UK.

To celebrate the announcement of the release date, we are releasing a new “Armoury” video (which most of you have seen! ) showcasing the devastating effects of the authentic modern weapon systems which gamers can deploy in Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising’s intense battles.

Shortly after the announcement on Operation Flashpoint’s Twitter page, the new screenshots where published.

Helios also made us aware about an upcoming video, Coming at the 3rd of July called “Fear and Anticipation”

Two new in-game video’s have been released, One is from an German Preview, and one has been captured at the E3.

Both video’s came as a bit of a surprise. The First French video shows 5 full minutes of footage. The soldiers also speak with a little accent. In the special build mission, the squad is going to blow up a radar station, on a smaller island near the coast of Skira Island.

Helios also announced the grass detail distance can be changed by the user himself; you can find the announcement here

Codemasters also noted to the following information in there release:

• Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is being developed using an evolved variant of the EGO™ Engine, Codemasters Studios’ proprietary technology platform.
• EGO Engine has previously been used to great effect in the creation of award-winning titles Colin McRae: DiRT and Race Driver: GRID.
• “The advantage of our own technology is that we can custom-build major engine components specifically suited to each title
• The EGO Engine does aim to build the experience and tension of being in a serious conflict situation where one shot can kill.
  • Using the engine’s rendering tech and customised audio systems, they aim to produce the danger and adrenaline rush of modern combat.
  • The realism of the game and its artistic content they state goes along way towards that.
  • They claim it will be however the driving tech, the detail and effects will give players a real sense of what it’s like to have a 80mm mortar shell land 30ft away.

1:14PM EST Update:
The forums have returned to some. It seems that the message is a country related message on a time delay per user’s location. It’s not effected by PC time, so it’s presumed to use the IP’s host location. Regardless VIA Proxy you can view the forums, however it is not recommended you login via a proxy here.

PS: For those who may be new to IRC; Always Remember to check IRC when ever there is a event of any kind. There will always be people in IRC on events and most likely IRC will be the main area for comments and chat during the event..

Having taken the risk and logged in, I thought I would share with you some of the noticable features while you wait for full connection to return.

For thoes whom still see ‘The message’

Heres a look at some of the new features.

First the Who’s Online is back (for now)

Next we now see a few new features on a post reply.

At the bottom we have a list of bookmarking options as well as the ability to add tags to a a thread. One can only guess what the tag system is for – however I presume it is to assist in the searching of threads. Regardless there is still the dev trackers, database optimisation, infraction system, AJAX implementation. That we have yet to see in action as well as the multi-quote feature, new profile displays.

There is also some new features in Your Control Panel -> Edit Options as well as Edit Signature looks different as well. There is now the following code box at the bottom.

Signature Permissions

For those whom use it, it seems the friends list has also improved. Looks like you can have a list of Friends and contacts. It is still unknown to me that this does. It looks like however it allows you to list who your buddies are in your profile and track them easier.

Lastly there has been a massive change to user profile pages.

Infomation was found about the  Forum Infraction System. As posted by Amaurea a D&D:OL Community Officer.

Forum Infraction System

With the upgrade of our forum software, we have implemented the Infraction System feature.

The Infraction System allows us to better manage the behaviour of our forum members and offers an automated way of issuing warnings, suspensions and bans.

From now on when members break the forum rules, one to ten points may be awarded depending on the infraction committed and the severity of the violation.

Points will be awarded on the following basis:

Minor offence: 1+ point(s)
This includes, but is not limited to offences such as swearing, masked swearing, light insults, flame-baiting, trolling, de-railing threads, spamming.

Moderate to major offences: 2 – 10 points
This includes, but is not limited to spam advertising, RMT, posting exploits/bots/hacks, impersonating an official employee, creating a dupe account to bypass bans/suspensions, racism, posting pornography, underage posting and inappropriate behaviour.

Points earned will be dealt with as follows:

• 1 point: warning
• 2 – 6 points: 3-day suspension
• 7 – 9 points: 7-day ban
• 10+ points: permanent ban

If a user should earn an infraction, a message will be sent to the user explaining why the infraction was issued along with how many points they have “earned”.

If you feel the infraction/warning was unfair then please contact an Administrator, don’t start a public thread as it will be locked/ removed.

Please note that anybody who has been issued with any sort of punitive action up until now will maintain their current standing. For example, if you have been issued with a warning prior to today you will start with 1 point on your account. Those people who have already had a 3-day suspension already, will start out with 2 points on their account, 7-day suspensions will start out with 7 points and anyone permanently banned will remain so.
